What to Pack for Disneyland in November: The Ultimate Guide

Packing a suitcase with sunglasses and headphones

What should you pack for Disneyland in November? I’ve got you covered!

November is a magical time to visit Disneyland. The weather cools down, the crowds are lighter (at least until the holiday celebrations begin mid-month) and Disneyland gets even more magical with festive decorations and events. (You’ll see holiday decor going up at the start of the month – I’ve even seen snow and icicles on the castle in October.)

But with the shift in season comes the challenge of figuring out what to pack. I’ve got you covered with these November packing tips to make sure you’re ready for all the fun, whether it’s crisp morning walks through Main Street or cozy nights watching fireworks.

Disneyland Weather in November

November weather in Southern California can be unpredictable. Mornings and evenings are typically cool (as low as 50°F), while afternoons can warm up to the mid-70s. Rain is possible but rare – you’ll want to be prepared just in case

Packing Essentials for Disneyland in November:

Layered Clothing
You’ll need to prepare for chilly mornings and warm afternoons, which means layers are key.
Light sweatshirts – Perfect for morning or evening wear. Layer them over a Disney t-shirt and you’re set.
• A medium-weight jacket – A water-resistant jacket is ideal, just in case of a light rain shower. It also gets chilly at night, so could come in handy when the sun goes down.
• Comfortable jeans or leggings – Easy to wear all day and adjust to the fluctuating temperatures. You may want to bring shorts too, but pants are a safe bet in November.
Hand warmers – These can be a lifesaver for cold evenings. (Pro tip: fresh beignets also keep your hands warm and your tummy happy

Comfortable Shoes
Disneyland involves a lot of walking, so make sure you pack shoes that you’ve already broken in. You’ll also want at least two pair – I recommend changing shoes and socks during your break.
Sneakers or comfortable walking shoes – Always a must for long park days.
Waterproof footwear – A light pair of waterproof shoes can be useful if rain is in the forecast. I usually just throw on waterproof sandals if it’s rainy, since it’s usually not too chilly. Plus they double as sunny-day footwear.

Rain Gear (just in case)
While November isn’t Disneyland’s rainiest month, it’s smart to pack for it just in case.
Ponchos – Lightweight and easy to carry in your park bag. (Also great to keep you dry on Grizzly River Rapids and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure!)
Waterproof jacket – A water-resistant jacket can double as rain protection and warmth.

Park Essentials
Don’t forget these important items – they’ll make your time at Disneyland easier (ie. more magical).
Portable phone charger – Your phone will be your lifeline for photos, mobile ordering food, booking Lightning Lane Multi Pass and checking ride times.
Backpack or crossbody bag – Something lightweight to carry your essentials without weighing you down.
Refillable water bottle – You can refill it at water stations throughout the park, which helps keep you hydrated all day long. I like taking a disposable water bottle in my bag, it’s light-weight and refillable, but can also be ditched if you need more room in your park bag (like for a Choco Smash candy bar – yum!)
Sunscreen and lip balm – Even in November, the sun can be strong in Southern California.

Holiday & Special Event Outfits
In mid-November, Disneyland starts its holiday celebration, which means you might want to pack festive gear to get in the spirit:
Disney-themed holiday attire – Whether it’s Mickey ear hats with holiday designs or a fun Disney-themed scarf or spirit jersey, dressing for the season makes the trip more magical.
